Alan J. Sweeten, M.S. CFP® CRPS®

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist ℠

Alan is disciplined and methodical by nature and training. A client-centered advisor, he begins by truly understanding what the client’s goals and dreams are. Coordinating that with the relevant personal data, he develops a customized plan and reviews the recommendations with the client. Once the plan is approved, he implements it and monitors it regularly to ensure that the client is making progress towards his or her goals.

Believing strongly that investment decisions should be based on sound research, Alan is a proponent of Modern Portfolio Theory and Efficient Market Theory. He knows that using low cost, asset class management and maintaining a well-diversified portfolio are essential for helping clients pursue their objectives.

Alan has been saving and investing since early childhood. As a teenager he began investing with his paychecks from Baskin-Robbins. After high school, Alan joined the United States Air Force, where he became an instrumentation and telemetry systems technician at Edwards AFB. While there, he saw many of his fellow Airmen losing money in on-line stock trading and investing in funds that underperformed their benchmarks. This was the genesis for his dedication to becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and his belief in Modern Portfolio Theory; Nobel Prize winning investment approach.

Alan has dedicated himself to educating clients via educational workshops. He covers a range of topics such as Retirement Planning, Tax Efficient Investing and Portfolio Management. He conducts workshops and client meetings in person, over the phone and through video conferencing.

Alan resides in Vista, CA with his wife, daughter and son. Alan is a Black Belt in Aikido and enjoys playing golf.

CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ are certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
